Bendon Allegedly Infringes Patents With Augmented Reality Apps

Electronic Scripting Products Inc. filed a complaint in federal court accusing Bendon Inc.’s augmented reality apps of infringing its patents for manipulating three-dimensional images on computer screens.

ESPi’s patents use a photodetector and controller to manipulate high contrast features in a three-dimensional environment, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio . The Bendon products, which are used for interactive child development lessons, use a mobile device such as an iOS or an Android device to manipulate high contrast features in a real three-dimensional environment, it says.
