Boise State basketball alumni team to compete in TBT Tournament
HOUSTON, Texas (KMVT/KSVT) — Even in the summer and ahead of the Olympics, you can catch some former Boise State Broncos on the hardwood.
The Basketball Tournament (TBT) – the $1 million, winner-take-all summer basketball tournament, will see the return of ‘Once a Bronco’, a Boise State alumni team.
Once a Bronco will play in the Houston Regional, with games at the Fertitta Center from July 19-23.
The Bronco alumni are the sixth seed in the Houston Regional, are organized and coached by former Bronco, James Reid. The current roster includes Cam Martin and Max Rice who were members of last season Boise State’s basketball team.
Other members range from the 2010-2022 season including:

- Marcus Shaver (2020-23)
- Naje Smith (2020-23)
- Riley Abercrombie (2019-20)
- Derrick Alston Jr. (2016-21)
- Justinian Jessup (2016-20)
- Kevin Allen (2014-15)
- Derrick Marks (2011-15)
- Thomas Bropleh (2010-14)
Once a Bronco will play ‘The Enchantment’ (New Mexico Alumni) on Friday, July 19, at 3:00 P.M. CT.
If Once a Bronco advances to the second round, they will face the winner of ‘Forever Coogs’ (Houston Alumni) and ‘Austin’s Own’ (Texas alumni) on Sunday, July 21 at 6 p.m. CT.
The Houston Regional Championship game is Tuesday, July 23 at 8 p.m. CT.
The winner of the Houston Regional will play the winner of the Wichita Regional in the quarterfinals on July 29 or 30 (official game date, time, and location to be determined). The semifinals and $1 million winner-take-all championship game will be on Aug. 2 and Aug. 4 in Philadelphia, Pa. at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
