Bomb squad at scene of north Dublin road after reports of suspicious device

Road closures are in place in Dublin 3 and the Army Bomb Squad are at the scene following reports of a suspicious device.

Road closures have been put in place between Fairview Strand and Richmond Road, as well as between Fairview Strand and Phillipsburgh Avenue. Gardai are currently at the scene and a cordon has been put in place.




A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: “Gardaí are currently in attendance at a scene in the Fairview Strand area of Dublin 3 today, Thursday, 6th of June 2024 following reports of a suspicious device.

“A cordon has been put in place and the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit are in attendance. Road closures have been put in place between Fairview Strand and Richmond Road, as well as between Fairview Strand and Phillipsburgh Avenue.

“No further information is available at this time.”
