Brooks Koepka shows true colours with gesture to England fans at LIV Golf Spain
Brooks Koepka trolled Jon Rahm, Sergio Garcia and other Spaniards in the field at an LIV Golf event in Spain by wearing an England top ahead of Sunday’s Euro 2024 final.
The American was paired with Rahm and Garcia for the final round and he walked to his first tee wearing an England jersey. “England, England jersey. Played with two Spaniards. The whole crowd’s Spanish this week,” Koepka said in a video shared to social media. The LIV Golf trio laughed and joked before getting down to business.
“Brooks is a funny guy. That’s truly trolling at an elite level,” one viewer said on X. “Brooks Koepka I wasn’t familiar with your game,” another added. A third fan tweeted: “This is beautiful stuff from my favourite golfer, Brooks Koepka right here.”
This week’s LIV Golf event will be the last before Koepka and Co. contest the Open Championship at the Royal Troon Golf Club. However, the Open Championship hasn’t traditionally been one of Koepka’s strong majors. His best finish has been tied for fourth while winning three PGA Championships, two U.S. Opens, and tying twice in second at the Masters.

Koepka is one of two LIV Golf stars to win a major since LIV Golf’s inception. With five under his belt, Koepka wants to win at least another five more before retiring. “I want to get to double digits in the majors. I think ten titles is very attainable,” he told Bunkered in May.
“That goal is something I have had to change, which I guess is the key to success. You always have to keep moving the goalposts to stay motivated and hungry for more.
“You have to set goals that you can attain but also some goals that are far away, so you have something that you are working towards every day.”

He added: “I think the fifth major title meant the most to me given everything I had been through with injury and coming back from that. I also had my whole team there, which was pretty special.
“We are always chasing Jack and Tiger but in today’s age, that is very tough to do and probably won’t be done again. There are only a few people who have won more than one major championship so to win five feels incredible.”
Overall in the LIV Golf player standings, Koepka finds himself tied in 15th with Rahm and the 2024 U.S. Open winner, Bryson DeChambeau. The major winners find themselves seven shots off overall leader Nirban Lahiri.
