Bundoran Races are back this Sunday in Finner

Horse Racing returns to Finner in Bundoran, this Sunday, June 30 at 2.30pm.

After a short hiatus, it promises to be a fun family day out with all the thrill and atmosphere of the races on what will be a seven race card at the ‘Bundoran Horse & Pony Races’.

And well known commentator Collie O’Donnell has promised that during the races, punters will be kept in the loop with commentary from the All Ireland senior GAA quarter final between Donegal and Louth in Croke Park, during the races.

Collie said: “I have been involved for many years with the Bundoran Races and I am delighted and thrilled that I will be there again this Sunday. The clash in Croke Park cannot be helped but we will do our very best to make sure visitors and punters alike are kept right up with the action with live commentary between the races.

“It’s a great day out. I am so pleased that it is up and running again, at its traditional home opposite Finner Camp with gates opening at 12 noon.

“This year’s main feature races are the Sean McEniff Memorial, the Shea Rooney Memorial and the Ciaran Gildea Memorial. A good crowd is expected and I hope it will follow on from the success of Sea Sessions which was held in Bundoran last weekend, “ he said.

Collie also reminded readers that another big horse racing event will also take place in south Donegal with the Ballintra Races scheduled for the August Bank Holiday Monday, where he will also act as commentator, so plenty to look forward to then as well!
