Business movers: People starting new jobs in Ireland

Here is a selection of people starting new roles with Central Statistics Office, Ibec, Environmental Protection Agency, Meritas, Mason Hayes & Curran and Engage XR Holdings.

Jennifer Banim has been appointed as director general of the Central Statistics Office, its first female DG since its creation in 1949. She has been a member of the CSO’s board since 2013, and was its assistant DG. Having joined the CSO as a statistician in 1991, she has worked across financial and statistics roles. She is currently co-chair of the executive board of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) High Level Group on the Modernisation of Statistics. She holds BSc in Applied Math Sciences from UCD and a diploma in Strategy Development and Innovation from UCD’s Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

Caimin Keane has been appointed as executive director of People & Culture with Ibec, the Irish business representative group. Caimin will lead Ibec’s human resource strategy. Caimin was previously the HR director at Deloitte for the consulting, financial advisory, and risk advisory businesses. He also held several HR lead positions within the financial services sector, including roles at Davy Group and Bank of Ireland. He also served in the Irish Defence Forces as an army officer in various roles across operational, supply chain, and organizational HR divisions, and completed several UN peacekeeping missions in the Middle East and Balkans.

Laura Burke, director general of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has been named as the new President of Engineers Ireland, its 132nd president, succeeding Dairymaster CEO, Dr Edmond Harty, in the role. Director general of the EPA since 2011, Laura was a director at the EPA since 2004. She is a member of the Climate Change Advisory Council (CCAC), and a member of the High-Level Implementation Committee of ‘Food Vision 2030’, and chaired the European Environment Agency (EEA) board for six years. She holds a BE in Chemical Engineering from UCD and an MSc in Management Practice from TCD.

Emma Richmond, joint managing partner with Dublin-based law firm Whitney Moore, has been appointed to the board of Meritas, the international network of independent law firms. Meritas connects the legal needs of companies across every major jurisdiction and global market. Emma was chosen from over 8,400 attorneys in the Meritas member network and will serve a three-year term alongside six distinguished lawyers from around the world. Emma has been actively involved with Meritas for several years, during which time she has served as a member of the European Leadership Group. Emma specialises in Employment law, advising clients on workplace compliance, employee relations, and dispute resolution.

Michaela Herron has been appointed as head of life sciences with law firm Mason Hayes & Curran. Michaela has deep expertise on the intersection of technology and life sciences regulation, guiding clients seamlessly through the complexities of the EU regulatory environment. Michaela is known for her proactive and strategic approach. Her ability to devise and implement effective regulatory solutions has established her as a trusted advisor for global clients in the Life Sciences community operating across the European Union. She also acts for life sciences clients in commercial disputes including judicial reviews and high-volume product liability actions, particularly in the medical device industry.

Karthik Manimozhi has been named as non-executive chair of Engage XR Holdings, a spatial computing and metaverse tech company. He is chief growth officer for AI platform Mindbridge.ai and a renowned global executive renowned for orchestrating three billion-dollar exits, securing over $250M in capital, and scaling multi-billion-dollar SAAS software revenues. He was previously executive VP of global sales at fintech company Kyriba, specialising in liquidity management for enterprises, where global revenues tripled and the company’s valuation soared to $1.2bn within four years. He has held key roles at SAP, managing vital businesses across Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East.
