Campari’s Charles Roullet heads Travel Retail Euro Competition; WHSmith, Skyline Concessions and fresh executives in hot pursuit
Campari Group Director West Europe Middle East Africa – Global Travel Retail Charles Roullet still leads The Moodie Davitt Report Travel Retail Euro 2024 Tournament Predictor Competition despite nabbing only a single point in yesterday’s matches, writes our football correspondent Hedda Ball in Leipzig*.
Charles has his nose (just) in front of a trio of pursuers: Cherrie Chan, Regional Area Director, TR APAC for fresh; Roderick McOwan,
Cherrie has picked a remarkable 16 out of 21 games in terms of ultimate outcome (i.e. the correct winner or draw) while Roderick has snapped up six big three-pointers (including Ukraine 2 vs Slovakia 1 yesterday), the best in the competition, for nailing the precise scoreline.
Our wonderfully international leaderboard sees 72 players within seven points of our leader. As with the football tournament ahead many scoring opportunities lie ahead.

There’s a new leader in The Moodie Davitt Report Travel Retail Euro 2024 Tournament Predictor Competition, writes our football correspondent Claire Fowell in Arena AufSchalke* after Campari Group Director West Europe Middle East Africa – Global Travel Retail Charles Roullet showed all the effervescence of an Aperol Spritz to bubble up the table with an impressive seven points out of a possible nine yesterday.
He correctly picked the 1-1 draws in the Slovenia v Serbia and Denmark v England matches and picked up a single point for predicting Spain to beat Italy (oh, oh, there goes the promotion) to move to 22 points.
Our long time leader, Angkasa Pura I’s I Wirantara had a rare bad day yesterday, failing to add to his 21 points, being joined by Rigo Trading Team Manager – Customer Service Developing Countries & Travel Retail – Luxembourg Marc Duchemin (an impressive 10 out of the last 15 points) and Ontario International Airport (the host of next week’s FAB Conference & Awards) Chief Revenue Management Officer Elisa Grey.
All remains to play for however, with just seven points covering our first 73 contenders.

20 June
It’s still Indonesia all the way in The Moodie Davitt Report Travel Retail Euro 2024 Tournament Predictor Competition, writes our football correspondent Hedda Ball in Cologne*. After another set of excellent predictions (four points out of a maximum six) yesterday, Angkasa Pura I’s I Wirantara sits atop our leaderboard on 21 points, two clear of Skyline Concessions CEO Manuel Soto IV.
The big mover though was Suntory Global Spirits Customer Marketing Manager – Global Accounts Juan Azqueta who picked the precise scores of both yesterday’s matches (Germany 2 v Hungary 0; Scotland 1 v Switzerland 1), giving him a remarkable three out of four 100% exact predictions in the most recent games. If he keeps up this form, Juan will become almost as notable a travel retail exclusive as the recently released 2024 Kogei Collection (Yamazaki Peated Malt Spanish Oak and Hakushu Peated Malt Spanish Oak).
Alongside Juan on 18 points is Dubai Duty Free Assistant Buyer Mohammed Amine Lemrani, who nailed a three-pointer maximum on the Scotland v Switzerland match.
Don’t forget to submit your entries in for today’s matches (Slovenia v Serbia; Denmark v England; and the blockbuster Spain v Italy showdown). With just six points covering our first 39 players, things can and will change fast.

A wonderfully international leaderboard is taking shape as The Moodie Davitt Report Travel Retail Euro 2024 Tournament Predictor Competition starts to heat up, write our football correspondents* Constant Diver and Claire Fowell in Gelsenkirchen.
Following Sunday’s matches, I Wirantara from Indonesian airport authority Angkasa Pura I and Skyline Concessions CEO Manuel Soto IV are locked in a tie for first place with an impressive 13 points. Even more impressively, both have predicted the correct outcome in all seven matches played to date (and the precise score in three, an impressively above industry average 42.9% penetration rate).
But the big mover over the weekend was Julie Fenwick at Luggage-Point in the UK, who after a slow start swooped up the table with a hat-trick of precise score predictions on the Poland v The Netherlands, Slovenia v Denmark and Serbia v England matches. Julie sits on 12 points, alongside Campari Group Regional Manager GTR EMEA George Bliss, who picked up the maximum three points on the Poland v The Netherlands and Serbia v England matches.
Three more players – Avolta Global Supply Chain Master Data Office Head Dani Petkova; Ricola Vice President Region Middle East & Travel Retail Andreas Reckart; and Marchesi de Frescobaldi Global Travel Retail Director Philippe Jamme– are just one point back on 11 points. In turn they are followed by ARI Global Business Development Manager James McLean and The Moodie Davitt Report Research Director Jess Allerton on 10.
Things can change fast though and with 11 players bunched on 9 points and 33 on 8, expect lots of changes on our leaderboard yet. There are three matches today (17 June) so don’t forget to get your predictions in.

The whistle has blown and The Moodie Davitt Report Travel Retail Euro 2024 Tournament Predictor Competition is underway, write our football correspondents* Amos Wynmatch and Hedda Ball in Munich.
If you haven’t entered there is still time to not only participate but even to win, especially as not a single one of the 203 entrants picked the correct score in host Germany’s 5-1 (sledge)hammering of a not so bonny Scotland.
However, 176 of them did predict a German victory and no doubt the 87th minute own goal by Germany’s Antonio Rudiger (about the only way the Scots were going to score) ruined several otherwise perfect predictions.
The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie cracked a bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc today after perusing the early leaderboard (below), only to discover his front-running status was shared with 175 others.
