Campfire Audio’s Releases Edition Moon Rover Earphones

Portland’s most boutique earphone maker Campfire Audio has added another model to its striking line-up of in-ear monitors. The Moon Rover Limited Edition earphones are now available in the UK.

Hand-assembled in Campfire’s Portland factory by a team of enthusiasts, just 888 of these high-end headphones will be available worldwide. Campfire claims that the Moon Rover are the best of what Campfire has to offer and are a unique part of the company’s history.

Each IEM is hand-finished and encased in flame-treated, aircraft-grade titanium shells to create a subtle and organic texture. Each color reflected on Moon Rover, which also features a PVD steel spout and gold-plated screws, is created by the gradient of temperature applied during the heat treatment. The process reveals blues, purples and yellows as the earphones catch the light.

The Moon Rover IEMs have a neutral and analytical sound, signatures of the brand’s current line-up. Serving up lots of detail, the IEMs have an impactful resolution in the upper register and sonic balance to the mid-low frequencies.

Each earpiece houses a 12mm magnetic planar dynamic driver with an exceptionally rapid impulse response thanks to an even distribution over the entire surface of the diaphragm which stimulates the IEM’s driver movement. Campfire says that Moon Rover IEMs offer class-leading accuracy and note definition over other, larger dynamic drivers.

The planar drivers used in the Moon Rover can move at high speeds, which produces sharp details in sound reproduction. With a wide frequency response of 5Hz-20kHz, an impedance level of 22.5Ω at 1 kHz and less than 1% total harmonic distortion, performance levels match the design innovation of the IEMs.

Moon Rover IEMs come with a hand-crafted waxed leather case. The cable is a Super Smoky Litz 3.5mm and you also get foam and silicone ear tips in S/M/L sizes.
