Carlos Alcaraz’s ‘Tragic’ Makeover Ahead of Wimbledon Doesn’t Sit Right With Tennis Fans

Many tennis players are known for their great sense of fashion, but Carlos Alcaraz is not one of them. He has grabbed the attention of fans due to his head, but for the wrong reasons. His new haircut has fans holding their heads, wondering why he would do it to himself. However, some are excited about what the new haircut will lead to.

After his 3rd Grand Slam win, fans were exhilarated with the idea of Alcaraz getting a tattoo. However, they were rather unpleased with his recent choice of styling. This leads to the question, what style did the three-time grand slam champion adorn to earn such displeasure from his fans? The 21-year-old has opted for a rather sleek style for the upcoming Wimbledon swing.

Following his historical French Open win, the world number 2 was keen to take the memory of the ‘city of love’, with himself. He later settled on the idea of getting the iconic Eiffel Tower tattooed on his ankle. As he looks forward to his 2024 season, the Spaniard has also started experimenting with his appearance. Fans are used to seeing Spaniards in a casual hairdo, but as he got his style altered to ‘fade’ from his faith barber, fans are in disarray with the new look.

Victor Barbers, shared the French Open champion’s cut on their official Instagram page. Though Alcaraz looked pleased as he posed for a few takes, the barber’s job did not please the fans. Many seemed ‘tragically’ shocked by the new appearance. 

Consequently, fans took to X to share their disappointment with the new French Open champion’s look. However, this is not the first time that the young Spanish sensation has sported this look. It likely won’t stay for long, but there is no pleasing the sad fans as he sets his sight on the grass swing before. 

Tennis fans displeased with Carlos Alcaraz’s new look before Wimbledon 

The moment his barber updated the 21-year-old’s new look, fans were taken aback by this massive change. Horrified by the look, one fan asked ‘Carlitos baby’ what went through his mind before styling his hair in such a fashion. He said, “Carlitos baby wyd (what you doing), Pls come look at this 😭”.

The X community responded quickly to concerns. While the idea of changing his barber was widely entertained, fans came up with suggestions to get the right barber for the champion. Hence, to make his hairstyle up to their expectation, a fan tweeted, “I need him to take the next step and get hooked up with the right barber 😂.”

Upper Manhattan, New York, has a barber around every corner. Most of them are capable, as the area is known for having great hairstylists. Therefore, a fan begged, “Somebody bring this boy uptown I beg 😩.”

However, this was not all; this one fan found it so unpleasant that he refused to believe the timeline of the haircut. The Spaniard had a similar haircut during his Wimbledon stint. Remembering the time, one fan couldn’t believe he repeated the hairdo. They wrote, “This vid is not from today I can’t believe I know this.”

After all the bashing, Alcaraz’s new hairstyle found some support from the fandom. The current haircut resembles the one Alcaraz donned during his 2023 Wimbledon victory. Seeing his style, one fan was confident he could defend the grass slam this year. They wrote, “We have to have a tragic cut before playing again…we don’t want to mess up our juju 🤭 we winning wimby.”

Athletes are known to be rather superstitious, which could be the reason Alcaraz decided to repeat the style. Despite disappointment with his hairdo, tennis fans are certainly wishing the World No.1 to carry on his winning streak by claiming the Wimbledon.
