Cash in With Google’s New Shopping Tools for Summer Sales

Google wants to be your one-stop-shop for finding great deals you didn’t know you need this summer.

Summer means sun and vacations and… sales? According to Google, that’s exactly what it means.

In an announcement shared with Lifewire, Google said on Monday that it was updating Google Shopping features to help you find summer deals. According to the search giant, “In recent years, online searches for ‘deals’ have spiked in mid-July, even surpassing search interest in ‘vacation.’ And 44% of shoppers say that deal days prompt them to shop more than they normally would.”

To help you prepare for the summer spending season, Google is introducing an updated deals destination where you can find the latest shopping deals in one place. You can access the page by going to Google’s Shopping hub and searching for “shop deals.” This opens a carousel of the newest deals across retailers on the web. These include a variety of retailers, including “direct-to-consumer brands, big-box stores, luxury multi-brand retailers, designer labels, and small boutiques.”

Another new feature is the ability to see pricing across retailers that include membership discounts. For example, if you’re searching for the perfect patio set and you have a Costco membership, if Costco has an item that meets your search requirements, you’ll be able to see what the membership price is for that item right from your Google search.

Of course, you’ll also be able to gain some insight into current pricing on products. Google shows you “historical averages over the past 90 days,” so you can tell if the price has increased, decreased, or stayed about the same. You’ll be able to track prices and get alerts when an item’s price drops.

The new deals destination is available in the US starting today, and you can find all these features in Google Shopping.
