This Morning’s Cat Deeley has lifted the lid on how she really feels about her husband’s career – and how it can sometimes leave her feeling ‘frightened’.

The presenter, 47, and her co-host Ben Shephard, 49, were chatting to comedian and actor Joe Pasquale about his current tour on Wednesday’s episode of the programme.

However, while discussing the nerve-wracking job, the conversation quickly turned to talk of Cat’s husband Patrick Kielty, 53, who is also a comedian and presenter.

Cat admitted: ‘It’s one of those things that I always say, because of obviously Paddy doing stand up as well.’

Joe quickly interrupted to compliment Cat’s partner, gushing: ‘I have to say, he is one of the best out there, when he does do his gigs people should go out and see them.’

‘Yeah, they’re amazing,’ responded the presenter, ‘but I have to say, it’s one of the scariest things you can do I think.’

And when Ben chimed in to ask whether she gets nervous watching her husband perform on stage, she agreed very quickly.

Cat explained: ‘I get so nervous, so frightened because literally, you go out there – and this is what you’re currently doing right now – you go out there with a microphone.

‘Everybody’s sat in the audience, they’ve paid £40 per ticket and they go right – make me laugh.’

In the lighthearted segment, Joe joked that his tickets ‘aren’t that expensive,’ which earned a laugh.

Continuing with the compliments, the comedian added: ‘Paddy’s great with hecklers as well though,’ to which Cat agreed: ‘Yeah he is, he’s very good with that.’

After being friends for years, their friendship turned to romance thanks to his major gesture of flying all the way from Belfast to Los Angeles for a brunch.

The romantic move was the catalyst for the couple getting together, and they married in an intimate ceremony in Rome in 2012.

The happy couple secretly tied the knot in September with their close family and friends present.

The praise for Cat’s partner comes after she stunned ITV viewers in May when she made a shock bedroom confession on This Morning.

She and Ben were discussing whether separate rooms are the key to a happy marriage alongside Linda Lusardi and married couple Emma and Kevin – who choose to sleep in separate bedrooms.

Speaking about her own bedroom arrangements, Cat revealed her sleeping situation with Patrick.

She explained: ‘It’s one of those things that because of our schedule here [This Morning], from Monday to Thursday I sleep in the guest bedroom and the rest of the time I’m back.

‘Because otherwise I get up at 5am and I want to fall asleep earlier.’

Linda then replied: ‘Well that’s logistics, you’ve got an odd job that makes you get up early. You have to!

‘But I do think if you can sleep together why not.’

Cat shares sons Milo, eight, and James, five, with her husband and the family relocated back to the UK several months ago after previously living in Los Angeles.
