Cavan have announced a landmark agreement with their GAA, LGFA and Camogie bodies to share the development of The Polo Grounds Centre of Excellence as well as usage of facilities at Kingspan Breffni.

This historic Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for facilities, which was signed off last Friday, came about after a working group was established with members from each of the three codes collaborating together.

This is a strong statement from all involved in Gaelic Games in Cavan with all three organisations set to benefit from access to high-quality facilities and resources across Gaelic Football, Hurling, Ladies’ Football and Camogie.

“This agreement is a testament to our commitment to providing the best possible environment for all our athletes,” Cavan GAA chairman Kieran Callaghan said.

“By working together with LGFA and the Camogie Association, we can ensure that our facilities are developed to their fullest potential, benefiting the entire GAA community in Cavan.”

Cavan LGFA chairman Philip Wilson echoed those sentiments while outlining the positive opportunities which such an agreement will create within the county.

“We are excited about the opportunities this agreement presents. Sharing facilities and resources will not only improve our training and match-day experiences but also build stronger relationships between our organisations, promoting unity and mutual support,” Wilson said.

Cavan Camogie chairman Shane Woods added: “This is a historic day for camogie in Cavan. The enhanced access to facilities and collaborative efforts will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and success of our sport.

“We look forward to seeing the positive impact this agreement will have on our players and the wider community.”
