Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Watched Harry Potter Movies During Time Off Before NBA Finals

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown spent his down time between the Eastern Conference Finals and NBA Finals in part by watching Harry Potter movies.

“A lot of our guys probably spend time with their family and stuff like that, but I don’t have a family. I’m single,” Brown said to Good Morning America (h/t Kaley Brown of boston.com). “So I’ve been binge-watching Harry Potter.”

When asked which Harry Potter characters he identifies with the most, Brown said Dumbledore and Hermoine, expanding upon the latter one.

“[Hermoine is] also the one that just keeps everybody on track. She’s the one that gets stuff done,” he said. “That’s me. Like, ‘We gotta get this done.’ I’m not waiting ’til the last minute. You got an assignment? We gonna get it done first day. We not gonna wait ’til the last minute.”

The Celtics had 10 days in between games before trouncing the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, 107-89. So Brown had plenty of time to binge-watch the eight-movie series, with a total running time of 19 hours and 41 minutes.

However Brown spent his time during the layover clearly worked as he led the Celtics with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting alongside six rebounds, three steals and three blocks in Game 1.

Brown and the C’s return to the court Sunday at 8 p.m. ET in Boston for Game 2.
