Chelsea transfer talks revealed

Oscar Perea’s agent has revealed that talks took place with Chelsea before he opted to join Ligue 1 side Strasbourg this summer.

The 18-year-old has impressed since making his professional debut for Atletico Nacional in Janaury 2023. The Colombian forward has scored eight goals and provided five assists.

Perea’s impressive performances in his native Colombia have earned him a move to BlueCo-owned Strasbourg in France. And the player’s agent Matias Bunge has revealed that discussions had initially taken place over a move to Stamford Bridge.

Maresca’s transfer assessment

Enzo Maresca has spoken for the first time publicly as the new Chelsea head coach.

“One of the reasons I’m here is because I’m convinced the squad is very good and full of talent,” he said.

“The most important thing now is we’re able to create the right culture that drives us for the season.

“I always say the same: if you are able to improve players then you are able to improve the team. So it’s our target to try to improve all of them day by day.”

Barcelona president makes Nico Williams hint

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has hinted that the Catalan giants could be about to make a move for Chelsea-linked Nico Williams this summer.

“I like Nico, a lot. I can say that financially we can make it happen,” he told Catalunya Radio.

“It’s the result of work that has been done over all these years to reach this point. We could, of course, face a signing of this level.”
