Christopher Esber Wins Prestigious French Fashion Award | ELLE
Australian designer Christopher Esber has won the prestigious ANDAM fashion award in Paris, recognising exceptional talent and creative expertise in the fashion industry.
As the winner of the 2024 ANDAM Grand Prize, Esber will walk away with a €300k (approx. $483k AU) cash prize, as well as a mentorship with Anthony Vaccarello, the YSL Creative Director and ANDAM jury president.
Esber was selected from a group of 12 finalists by 36 jury members. Presented at the Saint Laurent Headquarters on June 27, 2024 Esber was among five ANDAM honourees, with the 37-year-old Sydney based designer nabbing the top prize. Previous winners of the ANDAM Grand Prize include Anthony Vaccarello, Viktor & Rolf, Jeremy Scott and Marine Serre.
Esber will now set up base in Paris, WWD reports.
Christopher Esber has long enjoyed an internationally celebrated reputation, being one of the few Australian designers invited to present collections at Paris Fashion Week. A favourite among A-listers, like Dua Lipa, Hailey Bieber and Zendaya, Esber is most often recognised for his iconic, bold cut-out designs and sleek eveningwear.
