Confirmed Celtic vs Queen’s Park XIs as Matt O’Riley and Mikey Johnston start

Celtic continue their pre-season preparations with a trip to Lesser Hampden tonight as they take on Queen’s Park.

It’s the first time in 15 years that the two Glasgow clubs have faced one another, with Brendan Rodgers’ men also paying their first ever visit to the newly-built City Stadium. However, unlike last Friday when thousands of the green-and-white faithful turned out at Somerset Park for the 1-1 draw with Ayr United, there will be no away fans inside the ground tonight due to its tiny 900 capacity.

That means punters will have to make do with being armchair fans for the evening as the champions get more minutes in their legs. Rodgers fielded two entirely different XIs for each half at Ayr last week and the Northern Irishman may be tempted to do the same again.

Key stars including Matt O’Riley, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda all reported back to Lennoxtown earlier this week. And while the game will come too soon for Celtic’s Japanese duo, O’Riley will be given minutes.

You can check out the confirmed team news below:

Celtic first-half XI: Bain, Tomoki, Welsh, Murray, Kobayashi, Lawal, O’Riley, Holm, Yang, M. Johnston, Kyogo.

Subs: Siegrist, Oluwayemi, Clarke, Oh, Kwon, Frame, Agbaire, Robertson, Dede, Donovan, Hatton, Turley.

Queen’s Park XI: Ferrie, Mauchin, Scott, Fox, Wilson, Thomson, Paton, Thomas, MacGregor, Hinds, Turner.
