  • LISTEN to It’s All Kicking Off! EUROS DAILY: Will Gareth Southgate’s legacy remain intact no matter what happens in the final?

Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor is confident that Spain are going to beat England in Sunday’s Euro 2024 final.

The Irishman is so sure that Gareth Southgate‘s men will fall short against La Roja that he has placed two bets on the match.

According to the man himself, McGregor has staked €100,000 (£86,000) on the correct score being 3-1 to Spain, as well as an even bigger stake on Spain to win by any score.

If both bets win then McGregor – who will turn 36 on Sunday – stands to rake in €3.7m (£3.18m) including his original stakes.

McGregor – who is a brand ambassador for betting sit Duelbits – took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday to promote his punts.

He posted two tweets in total, after the first included an error.

McGregor’s initial tweet read: ‘Hey guys, Spain are winning 3-1 tomorrow. I have placed €100k on at the amazing odds of 19/1.

‘This result will see me take in €2m cash as well as the €1.1m I will cash on them just winning! €3.1m all in! The match is on my birthday! Tomorrow! Good luck and YOU’RE WELCOME!’

Twelve minutes later, McGregor added: ‘My bad guys, @Duelbits just hit me up! They really have the best odds ever!

‘The odds on that score coming in “3-1 Spain” isn’t 19/1 it is actually 25-1!!!

‘This means the return on my €100k will be €2.6m! Lovely jubbly €3.7m all in tomorrow for my birthday! THE RICH GET RICHER, BE EXCITED!’

Spain will go into the final as clear favourites after looking much more assured than England throughout the tournament.

La Roja have scored 13 goals at Euro 2024 so far, compared to England’s seven.

Meanwhile, Spain have kept three clean sheets to England’s two.
