Conor McGregor’s Dublin press conference to promote UFC 303 called off at late notice

Conor McGregor has not fought since 2021

Today’s scheduled press conference for UFC 303, which will feature Conor McGregor’s first competitive fight in almost three years, has been cancelled.

No reason for the cancellation was given, although the UFC have indicated the event will go ahead at a future date, to be confirmed.

An email from the UFC to accredited media at 5am this morning, followed by a short social media statement, confirmed the late postponement.

It read: “The #UFC303 press conference scheduled for Monday June 3rd in Dublin, Ireland at 3Arena has been postponed until further notice. We sincerely apologize to all the fans who were planning to attend. When we have further information on a new date and time, we will share it immediately. Thank you.”

The event, which was scheduled for 5.0 this evening in Dublin’s Three Arena, was due to be the first time McGregor and Michael Chandler would came face-to-face since the announcement of their fight.

An allocation of free tickets to members of the public had been snapped up within minutes of going online last Wednesday.

McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC since breaking his leg in the third of his fights with Dustin Poirier in July 2021. His bout with Chandler, 38, will be the main event at UFC 303 on July 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
