Contraband designer goods worth €200k seized in Dublin
Revenue officers have seized over 1,000 items of contraband retail goods, including Chanel, Hugo Boss and Gucci, with an estimated value of approximately €207,000.
The retail goods were seized in Dublin last week due to infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.
The goods consisted of a total of 16 brands which also included Adidas, Nike and New Balance.
Separately, revenue officers examining parcels at a premises in Athlone also seized over 10.4kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €208,800.
The illicit drugs were discovered in a parcel originating from Spain which was intended for an address in Dublin.
Various quantities of other illicit drugs, with an estimated combined value of €26,000, were also seized as a result of risk profiling, during the examination of parcels at a premises in Dublin.
The drugs were discovered in parcels originating from the US, UK, Canada and Thailand, and were intended for addresses nationwide.
