Coronation Street legend films her final scenes as she quits soap after 13 years
CORONATION Street star Lisa George has filmed her final scenes on the ITV soap, The Sun can reveal.
The actress – who played Beth Tinker in the ITV soap – hosted a night out with some of her cobbles co-stars last night sparking rumours she had finished filming.
Last year The Sun exclusively revealed how Lisa had quit the soap and would leave this summer in a dramatic storyline.
Lisa went on to claim she had signed a new contract – but The Sun can confirm she has now finished filming.
Sources confirmed that the actress has left the cobbles.
Actress Lisa, who has played Beth on the ITV soap since 2011, was joined by her on-screen husband Andy Whyment as well as her on-screen son Colson Smith at Manchester’s Media City.
Corrie legend Sally Dynevor was also at the bash, and sparked further rumours that Lisa has finished filming as she posted a gushing tribute to her on Instagram.
Sharing a snap of them posing together, Sally wrote: “Love you @lisageorge.”
Sally also shared a snap of Andy and Colson together.
Other Street favourites including Georgia Taylor, Jane Danson and Alison King were also spotted heading to the bash.
Lisa’s exit as Beth is still being kept as a closely guarded secret.
However a source previously revealed the plans for Beth’s swan song from the cobbles.
They said: “Beth’s a larger than life character who’s never shied away from a clash.
“Her exit will be as dramatic as she is.”
Lisa recently opened up about her health issues, revealing she is facing going blind.
The actress has NAION – non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy – which causes sudden vision loss in one eye.
Coronation Street’s shock exits 2024
Corrie has said goodbye to several cast members this year. Let’s break down who’s left the famous soap:
Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) has said farewell to Corrie to start a new life in Germany.
The youngster moved to live with her dad Dom Everett, who went back on the £10,000 bribe Eliza’s grandfather Stu had offered to keep him out of her life.
Paul Foreman will bow out of the soap this summer when he loses his fight with motor neurone disease (MND) in tragic scenes.
After being diagnosed last year, the fan favourite, portrayed by Peter Ash, was devastated to learn he only had months left to live.
Viewers know he is planning to take his own life to end his suffering.
Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) departed the cobbles after being offered the opportunity of a lifetime to study in America.
Though she struggled to decide with her stepdad Paul’s impending death from MND, she was convinced she had to live her life to the full.
Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) has struggled with the sudden departure of his father Peter from the cobbles.
The Weatherfield legend left his family and loved ones behind on Boxing Day, 2023, when his wife Carla Connor encouraged him to travel around the world with a friend.
Simon’s been on a downward spiral ever since and his exit could end in tragedy.
Alya Nazir is set to leave the cobbles as actress Sair Khan prepares to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child.
It looks likely she’ll be heading to Dublin after securing a lucrative new job, leaving her colleague and fling Adam Barlow behind.
Show stalwart Eileen Grimshaw is taking a break to star in the Sister Act The Musical UK tour.
She’s had to leave the Street immediately after her son Jason broke his back after falling off a moped in Asia. She will be back filming in May once her dates on the tour come to an end.
Just 11 per cent of people in the UK suffer with the condition, which can leave some fully blind.
Lisa’s doctor told her that she would never get her full sight back and that the damage was irreversible.

But she’s determined not to let her disability get her down and she’s “accepted” what has happened.
“When it first happened I was so petrified but I can’t worry about what could or couldn’t happen, it’s no way to live. I’ve just got to get on with it.”
