Country music fans can watch favourites like Nathan Carter and Mike Denver for just €4 in Dublin
Country music fans can see their favourite performers, including Nathan Carter, Declan Nerney, Mike Denver and Philomena Begley, for just €4 a ticket at a new event in Dublin.
Dublin City Council has launched the family-friendly Ceol Country, taking place in Smithfield Square on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1.
Tickets are on sale from 9am tomorrow, July 5, costing just €4. The alcohol-free weekend event promises something for all ages, from dancing to face-painting, arts, crafts and much more.
“Country music has become so popular over the last few years,” Lord Mayor of Dublin James Geoghegan said.
“I’m delighted to invite everyone down to Smithfield Square to sample it Dublin-style. Grab your Stetson and your cowboy boots and line dance your way down.”
From 12pm daily, guests can enjoy music from some of Ireland’s iconic country music singers including Michael English, Claudia Buckley and Cliona Hagan.
There are interactive dance lessons from line dancing and jive dancing with Patricia’s Social Dance Class Dublin, to Brush Dancing with Josephine Brennan King.
The arts and crafts is hosted by ArtMaker Dublin, for some country themed crafting.
On Saturday, Mike Denver, Philomena Begley, Michael English, Cliona Hagan, Brendan Shine and John McNicholl will perform.
Sunday’s line-up includes Nathan Carter, Jimmy Buckley, Claudia Buckley, Declan Nerney, Stuart Moyles and Brush Shiels.
Tickets will be limited to 4 per transaction. Children under 3 go free and all other guests will require a ticket for admission. Find out more details here.
