Charnwood Borough Council
Communications Officer
What you will do in the role
You will create engaging content including press releases, social media posts, video, articles, website content and possibly some graphics. Key channels include the media, social media, email alerts, websites, some printed materials as well as the council’s internal channels. You would also help collate and analyse metrics.
Customer Advisor
What you will do in the role
You will have proven experience of working in a fast-paced customer-focused environment and be capable of handling a range of situations with tact, diplomacy and empathy, while delivering an exceptional experience every time. The role will also include some operational support functions such as postal administration, data entry, and financial receipting and processing.

School Crossing Patrol
What you will do in the role
You will have the authority to stop traffic, and will instruct adults and children to cross the road safely. You will be provided with relevant training, a full waterproof uniform, and a stop sign, to enable you to carry out your duties in the safest manner. As the dedicated School Crossing Patrol, you will be committed to working each shift in all weathers.
Homelessness Prevention Officers
What you will do in the role
Working on the front line, you will liaise with customers either face-to-face, over the telephone or via home visits. You will need to regularly navigate sensitive situations. You will have a large and complex allocated caseload, where you will undertake assessments on customers’ support needs, especially regarding housing, employment, and financial needs.
You will provide support to those who may be struggling with substance misuse, break down in relationships, job loss, mental or physical health problems, facing domestic abuse, those being evicted, those who can no longer afford to pay their rent, and much more.
Vehicle Technician
What you will do in the role
You will maintain the council’s diverse fleet of vehicles, plant and equipment which will involve inspection, servicing, test preparation, fault diagnosis and repairs.
You will be responsible for completing written or computerised vehicle and job sheet records. In addition to interpreting information received from drivers and users of plant and equipment, you will give advice on actions to be taken and provide feedback on the work completed.
Operational Transport Driver
What you will do in the role
Your day begins at the depot where you are assigned your route and vehicle. Carrying out daily and weekly routine and safety checks, including fire precautions, you will check your vehicle is in a fit and serviceable condition. You will collect vulnerable passengers who have special needs and transport them between home and school, day centres and other establishments. You will ensure their personal wellbeing in a safe and appropriate manner, making their daily journey a comfortable one.
Admin and Business Support
What you will do in the role
You will provide administrative support to Children’s Services, and help to ensure the service runs smoothly by responding to face-to-face enquiries, answering the telephone, responding to emails and resolving enquires in an efficient way. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate electronic filing systems to ensure all records are up-to-date and remain confidential as well as process payment of orders, invoices or payments direct to individuals. You may support meetings by taking notes and minutes, cover reception duties and switchboard services.

Library Assistant, Market Harborough Library
What you will do in the role
You will work as part of a team responsible for providing a high quality, welcoming, and efficient library service to all customers. You will support library users to find the information and resources they need, assist them to use IT systems, shelve and display books and other materials, and deliver library events such as IT tasters and sessions for under 5s. You will also be required to promote customer choice and enjoyment in reading, and the service’s digital offer including e-books and online reference resources.
Transport Assessor
What you will do in the role
Your primary focus will be to complete individual risk assessments to determine suitable transport requirements either for home to school or daycare services. You will also support the service to resolve operational issues that arise on transport and liaise with parents/carers, operators, schools, daycare centres and other relevant stakeholders to support the safe and efficient delivery of special educational needs (SEND) transport.
You will assist the team in the delivery of in person training to external transport providers, and issue and provide guidance and support to external providers on using specialist equipment as required. You will need to prioritise your work, meet tight deadlines and work as part of a team.
Sales and Events Co-ordinator
What you will do in the role
You will oversee events at Beaumanor Hall, including set up and delivery, co-ordinating catering requirements and logistics such as AV equipment and signage. You will undertake post event evaluation to gather feedback for future improvements. You will ensure the correct staff resources are secured and the relevant staff training is in place.
You will also support the event and sales operations manager in responding to client queries, maximising on sales opportunities. You will cover the busy reception desk as required and assist in meeting and greeting all visitors to the hall.
Casual Waiting Staff
What you will do in the role
You will work as part of the Beaumanor hospitality team undertaking a variety of duties including setting up function rooms and conferencing facilities for events, liaising with guests and resolving queries, serving food and drinks according to the event schedules, and supporting the Beaumanor management team to provide a consistent high quality service.
