Dachser purchases 15 electric trucks from Renault Trucks – electrive.com

Five Renault Trucks E-Tech D electric trucks are already in operation for Dachser. Seven more vehicles of this type and three E-Tech T tractor units are now being delivered. Dachser will use the latter in Öhringen, Neuss, and Langenhagen in Germany. The exact route is not described in detail in the press release.

The E-Tech D is an electric 16-tonne truck with a payload of up to 8.75 tonnes. Depending on customer requirements, various battery configurations can be ordered – with 200 to 565 kWh of energy content. With the latter variant, a range of up to 560 kilometres is possible. Renault Trucks does not specify which battery and wheelbase Dachser has opted for.

The E-Tech T is a heavy-duty truck with a gross vehicle weight of up to 44 tonnes, which is available as a tractor unit and chassis. However, the model is intended for regional rather than long-distance transport. The stated range of up to 500 kilometres already includes a one-hour charging stop.

As part of its sustainability and climate protection strategy, logistics service provider Dachser is preparing for the gradual transformation to zero-emission vehicles and the corresponding charging infrastructure. Since January 2022, the company has been sourcing all of its electricity worldwide from renewable energy sources. Dachser wants to steadily increase the number of BEV and FCEV trucks in both the local and long-distance transport network depending on performance, charging infrastructure and cost-effectiveness.
