Delaware Football Club branches into Cape Henlopen

Delaware Football Club-South held its first club night June 10 at Cape Henlopen High School.  

The event provided valuable information, including staff introductions, expectations of players and parents, coaching standards, individual development plans, schedules, uniform fittings, upcoming community events and scholarship opportunities. There was even a raffle with prizes such as soccer balls, gift cards and a free uniform kit for the year. 

Delaware Football Club has provided quality soccer programs in northern Delaware for more than 30 years. The program was established in 1989 as Hockessin Soccer Club. The organization became Delaware Rush Soccer Club from 2014-18. Ultimately, Delaware Football Club was established in 2019. The program has expand to the central and southern areas of the state in 2024. The organization has more than 3,500 registered youth soccer players. 

The mission of Delaware Football Club is soccer for all. The club strives to provide soccer programs that foster participation, skill development, safety, teamwork and fun.

Delaware Football Club-South has formed an experienced and accredited staff. This includes Delaware FC South Director of Coaching and Zone 2 Director of Coaching Dave Scruggs, Director of Operations Patrick Kilby, Zone 1 Director of Coaching Tyler Nichols, Juniors Director Dan Simmons and Director of Goalkeeping Scott Smith. 

All training sessions, as well as some games and festivals, will take place at Cape Henlopen High School.
