Dior A-listers descend on Drummond Castle as fashion house hosts Scotland show
THE A-List turned out in force for Dior’s Scottish fashion show with Jennifer Lawrence, Lily Collins and Anya Taylor-Joy leading the fashion pack.
On Monday evening, the legendary French fashion house showed their 2025 Cruise collection in the gardens of Drummond Castle near Crieff in a starry event, which included Good Will Hunting star Minnie Driver and Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams in the front row.
Emily in Paris actor Lily Collins, who had been holidaying in Scotland with husband Charlie McDowell, chatted animatedly to The Queen’s Gambit star Anya while Spice Girl Geri Halliwell looked picture perfect in her trademark white.
Ahead of the show, celebrities gathered at Gleneagles hotel where they enjoyed champagne and nibbles in celebration of the French fashion house’s return to the country for the first time since 1955 – when Christian Dior took his show to the luxury hotel in Auchterarder.
Dior’s collection, by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri included collaborations with Harris Tweed, Johnstons of Elgin, Esk Cashmere and Robert Mackie who have made traditional ceremonial headwear worn by regiments and pipe bands.
Scotland’s national animal, the unicorn, provided the inspiration for the collection and the thistle, another symbol of the country, also featured.
Guests were given Dior limited edition blankets, featuring images of the 1955 collection which was previously shown in Scotland, to keep them warm in the cold night air as they were led though the castle grounds to the gardens below via a circle of giant steps.
Pipes welcomed the first models to the natural catwalk as kilted creations were paraded as a constant stream of Dior models walked by. Chains, PVC, lace, tweed and more was on show as the soundtrack to an electro-orchestral symphony of songs including Eurythmics Sweet Dreams.
Maisie and Jennifer seemed to get the animal print memo while tennis ace Emma Raducanu served up a stunning look in a cream, belted mini dress.
Some models wore garments adorned with a map of Scotland and there was a tribute to tartan and celebration of the kilt. Photographs from the last time Dior showed their fashions in Scotland were also used.
The show reached a crescendo with an array of pipers who played while the models and designer took their final walk. Geri Halliwell took a walk in the gardens straight after the show but others including Queens Gambit star Anya headed for the after party through the castle and outside again into a tented area.
As they passed by the paintings on the walls, Minnie Driver commented on the old portraits from time gone by while Anya complemented the DJ on the chain mail which covered his bare chest.
Singer Celeste also told The Daily Record she was enjoying the special Scottish air while Rosamund Pike said she loved being in Scotland. Maisie Williams who was sporting a leopard print outfit said “It’s beautiful and lovely to be here.”
Guests enjoyed canapés including Tomato Tartare, Beef Tartare, Crab, smoked potato with cheese, onion toasties and more as well as a host of drinks from champagne to negronis.
Other VIPs which also included milliner to the stars Stephen Jones, The Tudors and Peaky Blinders star Annabelle Wallace and Housewives of Jersey star Tessa Hartmann began arriving in Scotland on Sunday and enjoyed a day of leisure with the fashion giant.
And it is not like fashion fans will have to wait long for another show – the next opportunity to see Dior in action will come on June 24, when the French fashion house will present its latest couture collection.
