Draw made for Tailteann Cup preliminary quarter-finals

The draw for the preliminary quarter-finals of the Tailteann Cup has taken place following the conclusion of the group stages.

Wicklow’s reward for their winner-takes-all victory over Carlow in their final group game is a trip to Carrick-on-Shannon to take on Leitrim.

Andy Moran’s side suffered their first loss in the group on Saturday when they were well beaten by Kildare.

Laois, who finished as runners-up to Fermanagh in Group 3 after a one-point defeat to the Erne County, will host New York, while there will be an all-Munster clash when Limerick host Tipperary.

The final games will see Antrim, who finished level with Sligo on five points in Group 2 but were edged out of top spot on points difference, host a London side coming off a heavy defeat to Limerick.

Teams which progress from the preliminary round will go on to meet a group stage winner in the quarter-finals.

The games will take place next weekend, with dates, times venues to be confirmed on Monday by the CCCC.
