Dunnes recalls bread, cereal, and more over safety concerns

Dunnes Stores has recently pulled a number of food items from its shelves following recalls over safety concerns.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has been busy issuing multiple Food Alerts or Food Allergen Alerts for certain batches of products, including bread, cereal, and a milk alternative that were available at Dunnes.

Customers are being urged to rummage through their cupboards, fridges, and freezers for any of the implicated batches, which have already been removed from sale. Dunnes Stores that carried these items will display point of sale notices informing customers, who can expect a full refund when they return the affected goods.

The FSAI clarifies the situation, stating: “Food alerts are notifications issued by the FSAI to official agencies and food businesses or other businesses relating to an identified hazard i.e. a biological, chemical or physical agent in, or condition of, food/food contact materials with the potential to cause an adverse health effect.”

Shoppers who find they’ve purchased any of the recalled products should avoid eating them and instead return them to get their money back, reports the Irish Mirror.
