K-State officials on Thursday held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Edge District’s newest office building at 1960 Kimball Ave.
KSU Foundation senior vice president Greg Lohrentz detailed the importance of the newest addition.
“This building before us will provide hope for nearly 250 new employees,” he said.
The Edge District also features Rockin K’s restaurant and a Brothers Coffee Co. location. The district has brought in approximately 1,400 new jobs to date, and some predict a total of 5,000 new jobs by 2035.
K-State senior vice president and chief of staff Marshall Stewart said the project’s completion is “just the start.”
“We’re going to celebrate this, and it’s very exciting,” he said. “However, this is just the start of something very special for our university and the region.”
Construction on the building began in April 2023. It is 50% pre-leased and soon will house K-State’s Office of Corporate Engagement.
The full master plan includes 500 acres with $2 billion in completed and planned infrastructure.
