Emergency services rush to scene of suspected machete attack in north Dublin

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a suspected machete attack in north Dublin earlier today.

A large crowd gathered around a shop premises in the Balbutcher Lane area of Ballymun this afternoon after the incident unfolded. It is understood to have involved a number of men with one targeted by others who wielded a weapon.




A number of garda vehicles were also in attendance at the scene. It is understood to have taken place in the Poppintree area with the man looking for assistance.

Gardai have confirmed they attended the scene to Dublin Live. But further information was not available as the incident remains ongoing.

A garda spokesman said: “Gardai attended the scene of an assault this afternoon Tuesday 2nd July, 2024 at approximately 1pm in Poppintree Parade, Ballymun. One man, aged in his late teens was seriously injured and taken to Mater Hospital for treatment. Investigations ongoing.”
