Emma Raducanu declares she has ‘rekindled a fire inside me’ after exhausting tennis hiatus

Emma Raducanu has announced a renewed passion for tennis, expressing her excitement just in time for Wimbledon.

The 21-year-old tennis star took an extended break from competition following a challenging defeat in Madrid, which left her feeling “mentally and emotionally exhausted.”

After her hiatus, Raducanu made a strong return, reaching the semi-finals in Nottingham last week. She displayed a positive attitude during her time in Eastbourne, reflecting a rejuvenated spirit.

“I love tennis,” said Raducanu. “It’s kind of taken over me. I’ve rekindled a fire inside of me. Just very happy and enjoying it a lot.”

“I would say it was right before Nottingham it happened. I’m just really grateful to have this feeling again because it’s something I’ve been missing for the last few years.”
