Emmerdale star Danny Miller shares ideal Tom and Belle ending

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale star Danny Miller has called for evil Tom King to face “real justice” when his long-running storyline finally comes to an end.

The ITV soap has been exploring the issue of domestic abuse with Tom and his wife Belle, who’ll take centre stage once again in a special episode next week.

Viewers have been watching closely to see when Belle’s loved ones will realise that she’s being abused by Tom. So far, Charity Dingle is the only family member who has expressed any concern.

Speaking to Digital Spy on the red carpet at the Radio Times Soap Awards on Saturday (July 13), Danny discussed the possibility of Aaron getting involved in the storyline.

Hinting that it’s not on the cards at this stage, Danny told us: “Aaron’s a Dingle but sort of detached from Belle. It’d be great because as a viewer, I’d love to sort out Tom! But I’m sure one day, it’ll be sorted soon.”

He continued: “That doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be a man who stops it. It’d be nice to see that Tom gets real justice, as opposed to a good hiding.”

Emmerdale‘s producer Laura Shaw recently announced that Tom and Belle’s storyline still has a few months left to run.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media last month, Shaw explained: “We’ve said right from the beginning that we wanted to tell this story as truthfully and authentically as we can. For people who are subjected to domestic abuse, it’s not something that’s over in a couple of weeks.

“It’s something that goes on for a long period of time and we wanted to be truthful to that. I think you can expect this storyline to run until the end of this year.”

Asked whether the Emmerdale team already know the ending, Shaw replied: “I think we’ve always had a good idea in our head of exactly where we wanted it to end. Obviously we’ve found new twists and turns as we’ve gone through, but we’ve always had a pretty clear picture in our head of how it would end.”

The Radio Times Soap Awards took place at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Saturday evening (July 13). Emmerdale took home two prizes on the night, with Lisa Riley (Mandy Dingle) winning Best Comedy Performance and Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard) receiving the Special Recognition gong.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
