Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley flooded with support as she issues emotional announcement
Emmerdale star Lisa Riley was supported by fans as she shared an emotional announcement online.
The actress, 47, took to Instagram to reveal that she will be co-hosting a night of talent in honour of her late friend Robin Windsor. The Strictly Come Dancing star was found dead in a hotel room in February aged 44.
Presenting ‘Celebrating Robin Windsor: The Final Act’ alongside Lisa will be Strictly judge Anton Du Beke. Guest stars include Pasha Kovalev, Joanne Clifton, Vincent Simone, Deborah Meaden and several others.
Sharing a photo of the poster, Lisa added the caption: “So so so proud to be hosting this INCREDIBLE night of talent….with @mrantondubeke. A live show at THEATRE ROYAL DRURY LANE, in Londons WEST-END….a night dedicated to my best friend @robinwindsor my for always angel…”
The soap star added: “I love you and miss you so much.” Lisa told her followers that tickets go on sale at 10am on Wednesday morning (July 18) and that all proceeds go to Robin’s personal charity, SANE.
She signed off the post by urging fans to purchase their tickets, writing: “Don’t wait as I feel it will sell out VERY fast.”
Lisa’s followers rushed to the comments to praise her for the tribute, with her co-star Beth Cordingly saying: “How Wonderful, Lise. That’s fabulous. You’ll do him proud.”
Another added: “Beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul x.” A third said: “What an amazing tribute and I know that you’ll present this as wonderfully as you did his eulogy.”
“This is a beautiful tribute to your amazing friend,” agreed a fourth. Echoing this, someone else shared: “What a beautiful tribute to Robin.”
Lisa appeared on Strictly in 2012 and made it to week 10 alongside Robin, who starred on the BBC competition from 2010 until 2013.
After news of Robin’s tragic death was announced, Lisa shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. Alongside a gallery of snaps taken of the duo, the soap star penned: “My Bestie, My Robin, My Angel…….now our forever Angel, who is loved, will always be loved, forever in my heart……my very broken heart, I love you, shine your beautiful, electric energy from heaven. SHINE IN PEACE.”
Burn The Floor, a dance company that Robin helped to establish, announced the star’s death, writing in a statement on Facebook: “The Burn the Floor family has lost one of its founding members, Robin ‘Bobby’ Windsor – who has tragically passed away…
“His talent, attitude, energy and personality helped create the Burn the Floor stage reputation. He leaves a void in our hearts that will never be filled, yet our wonderful memories will stay forever.”
