European Athletics Championship: Adeleke, Mawdsley and Mageean all in action on big night for the Irish

The first event we will be focusing on is the women’s 400m semi-finals, where three Irish runners will aim to progress. 

Rhasidat Adeleke and Sharlen Mawdsley were part of that triumphant mixed relay team, while Sophie Becker is also competing. 

Speaking to RTÉ, Sonia O’Sullivan previews the semi-finals: 

“I imagine Rhasidat will be trying to get into this final as easy as possible. 

“I think Sharlene will be going as hard as she can. She’ll be trying to get the best possible lane. 

“Sophie is the lady in waiting for that mixed relay team.. She will be out there to prove she is moving in the right direction.”
