‘Every business desperate’ for pint with Taylor Swift ahead of Dublin gig

SUPERSTAR Taylor Swift has been inundated with invites from bar and restaurants who want her to drop in during her time in the capital.

The US pop star is expected to boost the economy to the tune of €150million when she performs in Dublin later this month.

The Shake It Off singer, 34, takes to the stage for three sold-out gigs at the Aviva Stadium on June 28, 29 and 30.

And everyone wants a piece of the singer, who it is believed will go out and about in Dublin during her stay.

An showbiz industry insider told The Irish Sun: “The clamour to try and get Taylor to visit while she is playing Dublin is insane.

“Every club and business in this country is desperate to attach themselves to Taylor while she’s in Ireland.”

But our industry veteran said the final decision about where Tay Tay socialises will be taken by her tour manager.

The source said: “The tour manager will be doing recess to suss out these places to see if it’s somewhere Taylor can get in and out of easily.

“You wouldn’t want a situation where Taylor was trapped by hundreds of fans in a restaurant if word got out on social media she was in there. That’s why there is such secrecy about where big acts stay while they are in Dublin.”

But any late night boozing or partying is out for Taylor, who is under a strict regime during her Eras world tour.

She recently played the 100th show of her tour in Liverpool. It started in Arizona, US, last March and doesn’t end until December 8 in Vancouver, Canada.

The source told us: “Taylor is on stage each night for an average of three hours and 15 minutes, and some concerts lasting as long as three hours and 45 minutes.

“You wouldn’t have much energy to go partying after that.”

Local sources say it’s more likely Taylor will have a quick pint of Guinness in O’Donoghue’s pub on Merrion Row.

The insider said: “A picture of Taylor sinking a pint would be perfect for her social channels, hit websites and appear in every newspaper around the world.

“If she was feeling more adventurous, she could head down for a pint in Temple Bar because Taylor Swift is about the only one who can afford a pint in Temple Bar right now.”

BUSINESSES BOOMING

BUSINESSES in the capital are expected to make a €150million bonanza from the 150,000 Swifties coming to Dublin for the three gigs.

Each concert-goer is expected to spend in the region of €1,000, a recent report by UK bank Barclays revealed.

This will include the cost of their ticket as well as accommodation, food, transport and merchandise.

One in five is expected to buy a new outfit for the occasion.

Taylor’s plays her last concert in Aviva on Sunday, June 30, with the next date in Amsterdam on the following Thursday.

But it’s expected that the star will fly out just hours after getting off stage.

A source told us: “Taylor and her A-team have their own private jet. She could be out of Dublin straight after the concert on Sunday night.

“They always keep a private suite booked that night wherever they are playing but they tend to jet out straight after each concert.”

However, Taylor’s backing dancers, musicians and production staff will leave for the Netherlands the next morning.

They’ll jet out with her tour wardrobe, costing €300,000, one of the most expensive in pop history.

Marking the 100th date of her Eras tour in Liverpool last Thursday, Taylor told the crowd: “This tour has really become my entire life.”
