Everything announced at the PlayStation State of Play May 2024

PLAYSTATION fans were delighted today during a State of Play presentation that saw a number of stellar games shown off and announced.

In the leadup to Summer Games Fest, a big celebration that includes announcements for all sorts of games companies including Xbox, PlayStation led the charge with a presentation of its own.

14 games were shown off during the PlayStation State of Play, although the first 10 minutes were taken up by new footage of Concord, an Overwatch-like hero shooter from Sony in-house studio Firewalk Studios.

Concord had previously been announced last year, but this is the first time we’ve seen proper gameplay, and it’s looking pretty good.

Interestingly, the game is coming to both PS5 and PC via Steam, which is a strategy we’ve seen Sony use recently with games like Helldivers 2.

Also announced was a release date for the Silent Hill 2 remake from Konami and Bloober Team, which will be launching on PS5 and PC on October 8, 2024.

If you want to catch up on the games and release dates, here’s everything you need to know from the May 2024 PlayStation State of Play, in order of appearance with release dates or windows.

  • Concord – August 23, 2024
    • Beta available in July 2024
  • God of War Ragnarok PC port – September 29, 2024
  • Dynasty Warriors Origins – 2025
  • Infinity Nikki – Beta in Q3 2024
  • Ballad of Antara – 2025
  • Skydance’s Behemoth (PSVR2) – Autumn 2024
  • Alien Rogue Incursion (PSVR2) – Holiday 2024
  • Marvel Rivals – Beta in July 2024
  • Where Winds Meet – In development
  • Until Dawn remaster – Autumn 2024
  • Path of Exile 2 – Early access in late 2024
  • Silent Hill 2 remake – October 8, 2024

Many more announcement presentations are said to be coming in the next week, including from publishers like Ubisoft, Xbox, and more.

Nintendo has also said that it will be holding a Nintendo Direct in June, where it will show off more games coming to Nintendo Switch in 2024.
