Experts warning weather ‘warming up’ as Met Eireann issue ‘ridging’ update
Weather experts have forecast the possibility of warmer days ahead as indications of ‘high pressure’ are ‘ridging’ towards Ireland over the next week.
According to the latest weather update, the GFS map is showing a ‘very dry’ spell for the west and northwest of Ireland with ‘hardly milimetre’ later next week onwards.
Experts have also predicted temperatures to warm up along with the drier weather after what has been one of the coldest starts to July on record.

Meteorology analyst Sryan shared a graphic of the map and said on social media: “Where did this come from? GFS giving false hope or trendsetter?
“Shows high pressure consistently ridging towards Ireland for the next few weeks. Very dry for the west and northwest especially with hardly a millimetre later next week onwards. Would also start to warm up.”
Meanwhile here is the forecast for the next few days according to Met Eireann:
Today
There will be showers and some bright or sunny spells this evening. Some of the showers will be heavy across the east of the province with the chance of thunder and spot flooding. Light to moderate southwesterly winds will veer westerly.
Tonight
Clear spells and further scattered showers overnight. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in light or moderate west to northwesterly winds.
Tomorrow
There will be some sunny spells and scattered showers tomorrow. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in light or moderate west to northwesterly winds.
