Face of ‘He-Man’ pervert Dubliner who swapped sick messages with Holly Willoughby stalker

Dubliner Mark Mulligan was jailed after harassing a mother and saying he would ‘love to rape’ her son (3).

Gavin Plumb was jailed this week after a court heard how he developed an “obsession” with the presenter and assembled an “abduction kit” – complete with handcuffs and metal cable ties – to help carry out his attack.

During Plumb’s high-profile trial, it emerged how the 30-stone security guard had sordid chats about the ex-ITV star with an undercover US police officer on an online chatroom called Abduct Lovers.

However, it was also detailed how he used the chatroom to share intimate details of the plot with an Irish user named ‘Marc’.

However, it has now been reported that Marc is a convicted stalker from Dublin named Mark Mulligan who was previously exposed by the Sunday World.

We revealed how he dressed as the cartoon character ‘He-Man’ on a dating website.

In 2014, Mulligan, from Clongriffin in North Dublin, was jailed for three-and-a-half years for harassing a mother and saying he would ‘love to rape’ her three-year-old son.

His trial also heard how Mulligan had also made references to the children of RTE “celebrities” and to kidnapping and raping boys and girls.

During what his own defence barrister described as a “disgusting fantasy conversation”, Mulligan said he would “love to rape” the three-year-old son of a woman he knew, because she “pissed” him off.

This week, it emerged Mulligan had exchanged thousands of messages with Plumb telling his trial he felt they were forging a “real friendship”.

In one exchange, Plumb told the Dubliner they would have to find somewhere remote to keep Holly once they had abducted her.

In response, Mulligan said: “Definitely in the middle of nowhere, so no one can hear her scream…Celebrities, they think they’re full of themselves, they need to be f***ing put into place.”

Like Plumb, Mulligan’s sick fantasies saw him end up before a judge in 2014.

The evidence heard in the Central Criminal Court was a world away from the mild-mannered image Mulligan attempted to portray on his profile on a popular dating website uncovered by the Sunday World.

On it he wrote: “I’m easy-going, enjoy walking, photography. I go to the cinema now and then, enjoy when I can go to theatre, comedy gigs, watching few things on TV.

“I’ve taken up walking again as I want to lose a few pounds. “If you want to know more feel free message me, I’m looking for a date and maybe possibly more depending on where the first date is going so no one night stand or anything.”

However, in court Mulligan’s true nature as a sick and twisted pervert was exposed.

The court heard how, in text conversations over Skype with an unknown person, Mulligan said he would “love to rape” the three-year-old son of a woman he knew, because she “pissed” him off.

He then sent a non-explicit photograph of the boy to the other person. This other man, using the online identity rodub82, said: “Let’s snatch him.”

The accused replied: “Mmmm make him watch us kill his mum and dad, and then kill him.”

Garnet Orange SC, defending, told the jury that the online exchanges were between two people who were concealing their identities and were disturbing but were in the context of a private conversation.

He said that nothing further was done.

After a one-day trial, a jury of 10 men and two women took 44 minutes to return a unanimous verdict of guilty.

Mulligan of Railway Road, Clongriffin, Dublin had pleaded not guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to the production of child pornography at his home on dates between March 1 and March 17, 2013.

In one online text exchange, on the morning of St Patrick’s Day, Mulligan told rodub82: “Lots of horny kids around today in parade.”

He later wrote that he would “love to have a cottage in the middle of nowhere and take kids there and rape and torture them… and shit on their graves”.

Rodub82 said they could behave “like a couple of Nazi prison guards”. Killed Mulligan added: “Love to pick someone up late at night boy girl man woman and rape the bastard. Every time I heard someone got raped it’s a turn on – even more when they are killed?”

He also said he’d like to kidnap and rape a pregnant woman and “get the kid out”.

Mulligan asked rodub82 which Irish celebrity he would rape and rodub82 named the actress Saoirse Ronan, while Mulligan suggested “any of the reporters on RTE”.

The other user replied “prefer their kids” and Mulligan agreed and said it would give them something to remember.

Mulligan told gardaí that the conversations were all just “sick fantasies” and he never intended to act on them.

He said: “I was only saying it, I was never going to meet anybody. We were discussing fantasy rape, as far as I was concerned nothing would be done about it. It was fantasy talk only.

“I get obsessed talking about rape and torture, I know I need help, I wish I didn’t have these thoughts.”

He said that while on the website gayireland.com he contacted a user with the word perv in their internet name and during their Skype conversation he said he “stupidly” said he was interested in raping young people.

Mulligan said he isn’t sexually attracted to children.

“I was lonely, curious, I felt like I was an undercover reporter, trying to get information. I didn’t have any real friends, I distanced myself from reality. I just wanted to talk to people,” he said

This week, Holly Willoughby has praised the “bravery” of the previous victims of Plumb for speaking out after he was found guilty of “graphic” plans to kidnap, rape and murder the TV presenter.

The former This Morning host also thanked the undercover police officer that “understood the imminent threat” to her life and helped foil his plot.

Following the guilty verdict, Willoughby said in a statement: “As women we should not be made to feel unsafe going about our daily lives and in our own homes.

“I will forever be grateful to the undercover police officer who understood the imminent threat, and to the Metropolitan and Essex police forces for their swift response.

“Thank you to the Crown Prosecution Service, the Rt Hon Mr Justice Murray, Alison Morgan KC, the members of the jury and all involved in this case for ensuring that justice was done and that the defendant will not be able to harm any more women.

“I would also like to commend the bravery of his previous victims for speaking up at the time.

“Without their bravery this conviction may not have been possible.”

During the trial, the jury were told of Plumb’s two previous convictions for attempted kidnap in 2006 and another two offences of false imprisonment committed in 2008.

He said he had a “stewardess fantasy” at the time he tried to force two air hostesses to get off a train in the space of three days in August 2006.

Plumb was handed a term of imprisonment of 12 months, suspended for two years, with supervision and activity requirements for his two kidnap attempts, and was jailed for 32 months for the false imprisonment offences.
