Fans express mixed feelings as Nicola Coughlan teams up with Kim Kardashian for Skims shoot

The Bridgerton actress is the talk of the town at the moment and has partnered with the reality star’s viral brand for its latest collection.

The Bridgerton actress is the talk of the town at the moment and has partnered with the reality star’s viral brand for its latest collection.

In newly released campaign photos shot by Elizaveta Porodina, the Galway girl models pieces from Skim’s Soft Lounge collection, including their bestselling Soft Lounge Long Slip Dress.

“I’m so honoured to be in Skims’ latest campaign! I’ve been a fan of Skims since the beginning. It’s been my on set lounging outfit since day one,” Nicola said in a statement.

“I love that it’s a brand that makes everyone look and feel amazing. The Soft Lounge styles are incredibly flattering, comfortable, and so soft, and so beautiful. Whether I’m wearing them at home or on set I always feel incredible in Skims.”

The collaboration, which was unveiled on Instagram today, has been met with mixed reactions so far.

Many fans and famous pals have jumped at the chance to congratulate Nicola on her latest career move and gush over her stunning photoshoot.

Her Bridgerton co-star Simone Ashley, who plays Kate Sharma in the Netflix hit, left a string of shocked, heart-eyes, and red heart emojis, while fashion photographer Kyle Galvin wrote: “Wowwww!! Like a renaissance painting”.

“Excuse me what?! An actual goddess,” another follower said.

However, others were less than impressed with Nicola’s decision to team up with Skims as many social media users have called for the brand to be boycotted amid the Israel-Palestine conflict.

One person said: “Sad. Advocacy and solidarity are inseparable from integrity. Advocacy has to be led with integrity, and that is why boycotting matters. You’ve done so much for Palestine and waking up celebrities to do something, and for that, there is gratitude, but working with the Kardashians is a total disappointment.”

Another added: “Babes I love you down but this partnership is not it after all of the incredible work you’ve done for Palestine. Please consider the boycott.”

And someone else echoed: “No no no… this is ALL wrong. Please for the people of Palestine boycott.”

Nicola has previously used her celebrity status to draw attention to the genocide in Palestine and has raised almost €2 million for various Palestinian causes.

Speaking at the Bridgerton Season 3 premiere in Dublin earlier this month, she explained that she doesn’t care whether she receives backlash for speaking out about the conflict.

“I am not the one suffering in the situation,” the 37-year-old said.

“It’s such a weird dichotomy… I’m so proud of this show and it’s so joyful, but I’m hyper-aware of what’s going on in Gaza right now.

“I have so many eyes on me right now. Some people go ‘who cares what an actress thinks’ and I know, you’re right, but what I can do is help raise money for people in need.”
