Fans react to Nadal-Alcaraz Olympic tennis doubles linkup for Paris 2024

Tennis fans have been sharing their excitement at the news that Spanish stars Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz will team up in the men’s doubles competition at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) announced the eagerly anticipated duo as part of their five-man squad in the men’s tennis competition. Both men are also expected to play in singles, but as a pairing, two time gold medallist Nadal will also aim to reclaim the men’s doubles title he won at Rio 2016, while 21-year-old Alcaraz will make his Olympics debut at the venue at which he won his most recent Grand Slam, the French Open, last week.

The reaction on social media was, as expected, ecstatic for the confirmation of the most eagerly anticipated pairing of the Games, with thousands of messages of support across the different platforms. Even some of the biggest sports organisations and accounts expressed their love for the duo’s partnership.
