Far-right agitator Philip Dwyer vents over Pride flag at Portlaoise Prison

In a bizarre clip he shares with followers, the self-styled citizen journalist, who was singled out as an “inciter” of the Dublin riots, records himself outside Portlaoise Prison where he points out a flag on the railings.

He begins his rant: “Guys, I hope you can hear me there now. I’ve just had to stop here.

“I’m in Portlaoise, Co Laois, outside the prison, and as if people don’t have enough problems guys, if you can see that flag, that’s outside the prison,” he says , indicating a Pride flag on the fence behind him.

“I think there’s two of them actually outside Portlaoise high security prison. I mean, as if they don’t have enough problems in there behind them gates. As if we don’t have, probably, males raping and males inside them gates there.

“We all hear these stories, graphic stories, about what goes on in prisons. “

“And then we have this male in Limerick Prison identifying as a woman and being allowed to go into the prison,” he adds, presumably referring to Barbie Kardashian, the transgender woman who remains in Limerick Prison awaiting trial accused of making threats to kill or cause serious harm to two women.

“Here we are, our prison service, our government, promoting this LGBT agenda and, you know, God help Ireland,” Dwyer continues.

“I mean this this is just ridiculous. What the hell has this got to do with our prison service?

Dwyer is currently before the courts charged with engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour outside a creche arising from an incident where he confronted staff in relation to a children’s drawing of a rainbow.

The 56-year-old is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court for a hearing of the alleged offence on September 19.

A former postman, Dwyer was dismissed from An Post in May 2010, with the company citing dereliction of duty and failure to comply with their instructions.

During an unfair dismissal case taken by Dwyer, it emerged he had kicked a number of dogs, including a friendly collie he kicked in the head with a steel toe-cap boot, and threatened another woman that he would kill her family’s dog.

One of the far right’s most active posters on social media, Dwyer announced on Twitter in April that he planned to run for a post as an MEP in July “for the children of this country.”

“I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be running for the European elections in June,” he said in a video. “The number one reason that I’ve decided to run is for the children of this country and the Irish nation.”

During the election count, video footage emerged of Dwyer being escorted from the South Dublin County Council count centre in Lucan on Sunday after a request from the Returning Officer.

It happened during the tenth count for the Tallaght Central constituency where Mr Dwyer was standing for Ireland First.

Dwyer barely featured in the count and was eliminated.
