Fashion Editor picks the best linen buys at Uniqlo this summer, shop from £19

As Fashion Editor I have been hunting high and low to bring you chic summer staples that won’t break the bank, and let me tell you, Uniqlo is really pulling it out of the bag this season. Known for its quality wardrobe essentials at affordable prices, the high-street retailer is a one-stop shop for pieces that’ll lay the perfect foundations for a chic new-season wardrobe.

I particularly love their latest linen collection which I will be stocking up on for when the warmer weather arrives (soon hopefully). Linen fabrics are known for their cool, airy qualities making them ideal to wear during the warmer months and on holiday. Plus, quite frankly does linen ever really go out of fashion? Nope! As shopping cleverly goes, it’s always a failsafe investment if you want to make summer dressing a breeze.

Uniqlo’s latest linen drops have already been a huge hit with customers, this gathered-back linen-blend dress, £39.90 here has been praised, for its “flattering fit” and the “nice material that feels good on the body,” and I have also spotted the perfect pair of linen trousers that are not only super chic but come in at under £20- what’s not to love?

If you’re yet to invest in a pair of relaxed, easy-to-wear linen trousers then what are you waiting for? I’ve found this pair online for under £20 and had to look twice when I saw the price tag- they look way more expensive.

Made with a rayon-linen-cotton blend fabric for a natural slub look these loose trews are cool and casual for those days when maximum comfort is required. Plus, I’m all for a drawstring waist come summer, no one likes to feel restricted with a tight waistband in the heat now do they?

I’ve lost count of how many oversized shirts I own. On those days I simply don’t know what to wear I find myself reaching for my ‘comfort blanket’- a chic striped shirt.

I usually avoid wearing shorts during the summer as I don’t like showing too much leg and find they are clingy on my curves, however, I think I could be swayed by this pair. Falling just above the knee the length promises a little more modesty whilst the looser leg won’t emphasise lumps and bumps.
