Former NBA Star’s Cause of Death Revealed

Former NBA star Darius Morris reportedly died of heart disease, with drug and alcohol use playing a role, according to a report by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, which was first obtained by TMZ. The medical examiner reported that drug and alcohol use was a significant factor in Morris’ death, specifically the effects of cocaine, hydrocodone and ethanol. His death was ruled accidental. Morris was found dead at a Los Angeles-area home on May 2. He was last known to be alive on April 22—10 days prior to his death—when he told his mom he was feeling ill and experiencing flu-like symptoms. Morris played four seasons in the NBA with the Lakers, 76ers, Clippers, Grizzlies and Nets before going overseas. He was only 33-years-old when he died. “With great sadness we announce the passing of our dearly beloved son, Darius Aaron Morris,” the family said. “During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
