Galway gardai chase car arresting trio as ‘dangerous’ clip shows man pinned down
This is the moment gardai managed to chase down a car arresting three young men inside who led cops on a high speed chase around a large Galway area in an out of control car ride.
Video footage, exclusively obtained by Galway Beo, of the trio in the vehicle shows them being chased along a main road by a squad car before showing the chaos that ensued afterwards as gardai managed to pin them down.
The videos show the ‘dangerous driving’ incidents as they happened with the first documenting the moments before they were brought to a stop along Dunmore Road in Tuam on Sunday evening.

In the first part of the video, the people in the vehicle can be heard shouting as the driver attempts to outpace a garda car chasing them, seen through the rear window.
One person can be heard saying “It’s not funny!” while another says “It is funny!” The person recording the video can be heard saying: “F**k them! I’m recording. Boys!”
The camera then appears to tumble as the car appears to go out of control, when the person recording can be heard saying “I got that on record! The whole 360”.
In a second clip, the video shows a man being pinned to the ground by a garda beside a car that is visibly damaged as the person recording can be seen approaching the pair and is then heard saying: “I know him. He’s alright, I already asked him.”
A source told Galway Beo: “The three young men in the vehicle are well known to gardai in the area. They have been involved in petty incidents around Galway. They would all be in their early 20s.”
A spokesperson told Galway Beo: “Gardaí attended an incident of dangerous driving that occurred in the Tuam area of Co Galway at approximately 7:50pm on the 7th of July 2024.”
They added that three people were arrested in relation to this incident and have since been released pending file to the Director of Public Prosecutions. Investigations are ongoing.
