Galway to get 100 hi-tech healthcare jobs

Over 100 jobs are to created in a new healthcare innovation hub in Galway by Evernorth Health Services, the pharmacy division of the global Cigna Group.

Both graduates and experienced technology professionals are to be recruited for positions in software strategy, architecture and product management.

While the recruitment process is underway, the jobs will be rolled out over a number of years and are being provided with IDA funding.

Luke Warren, Head of Evernorth Ireland, said that Galway was chosen as a hub as it will help to “drive further innovation”.

Michael Lohan, CEO of the IDA, hailed the news as reflecting “Ireland’s reputation as a hub for innovation and technology talent”.

Minister Dara Calleary at today’s announcement

The Minister of State for Trade Promotion Dara Calleary pointed to “Ireland’s vibrant tech community” along with “our ease of access to cutting-edge research and leading third-level institutions offer real opportunity to business”.

Evernorth Ireland is based temporarily at the Hibernian House in Eyre Square.
