Gangster Alan ‘Fatpuss’ Bradley canvasses for his anti-immigration candidate brother
In election literature Leon describes himself as a “real independent” and an “anti-immigration candidate”.
Leon Bradley (46) is running as an Independent candidate in the Finglas- Ballymun ward in Dublin and has the backing of his notorious siblings who described him a “proper man for the people”.
Leon, who is not involved in crime, has been heavily involved in anti-immigration protests in recent years.
In election literature Leon describes himself as a “real independent” and an “anti-immigration candidate”.
“I will not lie to you at your door. You’re putting me in to get them out,” he says.
He goes on to say he is a father-of-five and is involved in local angling clubs.
“I have become politically active after witnessing first-hand the destruction of the very fabric of our society though the reckless mass migration policies being pursued by past and present governments along with the so-called opposition.”.
His brother Alan ‘Fatpuss’ Bradley is encouraging people to get out and vote for Leon on Friday.
“A proper man for the people vote number 1 Leon Bradley,” he wrote in an online post.
Wayne has also asked people to get out and vote for Leon.
Wayne has previously encouraged people to take part in anti-immigration protests in Finglas but told people not to bring weapons as it “will ruin what we started.”
Alan is one of Ireland’s most infamous criminals and was a leading member of the crime gang once led by the late Eamonn ‘the Don’ Dunne.
Alan and Wayne, who was also a member of Dunne’s gang, both served lengthy sentences for their involvement in an attempted raid on a cash-in-transit van carrying €880,000 in Celbridge, Co. Kildare in 2007.
Dunne was also involved in the attempted raid which was thwarted by gardai but was shot dead before standing trial on the matter.
Dunne once led Ireland’s most dangerous gang and he is believed to have ordered up to 17 murders before being himself shot dead in a pub in Cabra in Dublin 2010. Criminals from the north Dublin who had links to the Hutch and Kinahan gangs who were allies at the time were suspected in Dunne’s murder.
Alan and Wayne were previously targeted by the Criminal Assets Bureau and were served with demands for €362,000 in unpaid taxes and penalties between them.
Alan rose to prominence as a criminal figure in the 1990s and 2000s when he was linked to numerous armed robberies and also ran a pirate radio station.
He was suspected of involvement in at least a dozen robberies, including a 1996 heist at the Santry Omniplex which netted about IR£600,000 and, at around the same time, a robbery at Dunnes Stores in Cornelscourt, Dublin, worth about IR£400,000.
There were also a number of robberies in 2005 to which his gang was linked.
He has survived various gangland disputes and has previously been under threat from various gangs including rival Finglas criminals and a Real IRA mob led by Alan Ryan who was shot dead in 2012.
Alan also came under threat from associates of Paul ‘Farmer’ Martin who was shot dead on the orders of Dunne in Finglas in 2008.
Afterwards, a man was caught on CCTV watching Alan Bradley’s house in Meath. Dunne’s gang made attempts to identify the man and Gary Howard, a criminal originally from the inner city, told them he was Brendan Molyneaux. The gang believed associates of Martin had hired Molyneaux to take out Bradley and Dunne.
Sources say Dunne’s gang then told Howard he would have to kill Molyneaux or he would be killed himself.
Howard shot Molyneaux dead in a flat off Pearse Street in Dublin in January 2010. He also murdered Paddy Mooney in the attack purely because he was with Molyneaux at the time.
Alan Bradley has avoided getting sucked into any serious feuds since his release from prison in 2018.
He set himself up as a personal trainer and also had a health scare a number of years ago.
Wayne videoed Alan beating up a man in a vicious assault in Finglas shortly after Halloween in 2021.
In the video Alan Bradley grabs the man and punches him before throwing him to the ground and punching him repeatedly with force in the head. He then goes on to kick him in the head while he is on the ground.
The victim was left with a broken jaw and other serious injuries.
The attack took place after the victim is understood to have inadvertently sent a message to the wrong number while he was out socialising leading to a misunderstanding.
Alan was arrested over the attack but later released without charge as a file was prepared for the DPP. It is understood the victim did not want to take the matter any further and Alan Bradley later accepted the message was a misunderstanding.
Alan was also arrested on Easter weekend this year in relation to a disturbance at a Finglas pub.
Wayne is currently under investigation as part of a fraud investigation. Gardaí have sent a file to the DPP on the matter.
