Gemini AI makes its way to Google Messages – GSMArena.com news
A new update is rolling out, bringing Gemini AI to Google Messages after Gmail already got the AI treatment and Google announcing the move more than a week ago. The feature isn’t widely available yet, so you might have to wait a bit longer for the update.
Essentially, Gemini AI is the same exact service as the standalone app on Android, but since it’s integrated into the Messages app, it’s easier to access and you can ask questions or give instructions on the go without having to close the Messages app.
A new floating action button is said to appear on top of the “Start chat” button in the lower-right corner, giving you fast and easy access to the AI service.
It’s important to note that the AI doesn’t read your private conversations and your chat with the said chatbot isn’t end-to-end encrypted, so you might want to be careful with the information you give to Gemini. Your chat history with Gemini is stored up to 18 months by default, but you can increase that to 36 months or reduce it to just 3. The Gemini AI won’t track your location either. It will only know your general location based on your IP or home address so it can generate relevant information.
