Go Ahead hosting open days for female bus driver recruits
Go Ahead will host two women-only recruitment open days aimed at recruiting more female bus drivers.
The multi-national company is aiming to hire 1,500 female bus drivers across its group by the end of 2025 and a number of jobs are up for grabs in Dublin. Go Ahead operates a number of routes around the Outer Dublin area.
The first open day will take place on Tuesday, June 25 at Go Ahead’s Ballymount depot from 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm. A second open day will be held at the depot on Tuesday, July 2 from 10am to 3pm.

On the day, attendees will have the chance meet current female drivers and supervisors who will share their experience of working at the company. Attendees will also be given the opportunity to meet the wider female management team, including Human Resources, Operations and Training.
Women attending will be able to ask about rosters, benefits and the process of becoming a professional bus driver, as well anything else that they would like to know about working in the public transport sector. Interested candidates can interview on the day they attend, needing only to bring their CV and, if applicable, proof of their right to work in Ireland.
Ciara Gallagher, Head of People at Go Ahead Ireland, said: “At Go-Ahead Ireland, we are dedicated to investing in every colleague’s success by providing comprehensive training and building their confidence for a rewarding career. New drivers joining our team will benefit from paid training, regardless of their previous licence type.
“Our program includes a week of classroom learning, four to six weeks of hands-on bus training followed by route learning and mentoring with our operations team. We support our drivers every step of the way, ensuring they are fully prepared for their ‘Go-Live’ moment and new hires will receive all the materials and guidance needed to pass their driving test.”
Anyone wishing to book a timeslot for interview can do so on Indeed.ie and walk-ins will also be welcome on both days.
