Golfers raise funds with Wicklow and District Lions Club

A day of golfing proved prosperous for local causes as the Wicklow & District Lions Club SSE Golf Classic in Blainroe teed off last Friday.
The event is a highlight of the fundraising calendar for the Lions, with key support from local businesses helping to make it a success.
Taking the top prize were Bee and Philip Bonus, but there was also a raffle and plenty more fun to be had.
Sean Olohan from the Lions Club thanked the golfers who took part and added special thanks to lead sponsor SSE Renewables.
He added: “Thanks also to SuperValu and Kelly’s Fruit & Veg in Wicklow for their continued support. Big thanks to the many Tee Box sponsors and to the staff in Blainroe.
“A special raffle was held on the day with novelty prizes kindly donated by Ms P Sigrist on behalf of various companies in Switzerland which was very much appreciated.
“All funds raised are distributed to deserving causes within the community.”
