Expanding Horizons for Fantasy Sports and Lottery Ads

Daily fantasy sports (DFS) have long been a popular form of entertainment for sports betting enthusiasts. However, advertising restrictions have often limited their reach. With Google’s new policy, DFS operators can now advertise in 17 states, including major markets like California, Florida, and New York.

This change is particularly beneficial for operators in states where online sports betting is prohibited, as they can still reach potential customers through Google Ads.

It’s important to note that advertisers must be licensed in at least one state that requires a license to operate. This ensures that only legitimate and certified operators can advertise on Google’s platform.

Growth Potential for Lottery Courier Services

Lottery courier services have been gaining traction in the U.S., allowing users to order lottery tickets remotely through online platforms or mobile apps.

With Google’s updated policy, advertisers can now promote these services in 34 states plus the District of Columbia. This includes states with significant populations and active lottery markets, such as New York, Texas, and Pennsylvania.

Lottery couriers operate by purchasing tickets from official lottery retailers on behalf of their users. They charge either an upfront fee or take a commission from customer deposits.

Although tickets purchased through courier apps currently account for less than 1% of total U.S. lottery sales, the market is growing rapidly. Major moves like DraftKings acquiring Jackpocket for $750 million highlight the potential in this sector.

Google is opening the door for the online gambling industry to keep growing and changing. Betting online is definitely becoming more normal, and companies that play it smart can do really well in this growing market.
