Incoming North Carolina freshman Lanie Grant has been named to the 2024 USA Basketball Women’s U17 National Team, announced on Sunday evening. The 12-member team was selected following four days of trials in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The squad will compete at the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup from July 13-21 in Irapuato and Leon, Mexico. Prior to heading for Mexico, the team will hold a training camp back in Colorado Springs in early July.
Grant, a guard from Midlothian, Va., is one of seven team members who were also part of the U16 National team, which won gold at the 2023 FIBA U16 Women’s AmeriCup. For a look at the entire roster, click here.
